FUGLEN OSLO COCKTAIL BAR ON TOUR!

12.04.2024

Halvor and Adi have just returned from their hurricane tour, taking the Fuglen Oslo Cocktail bar all over Asia- from Indonesia to Korea and finally Japan.

Here’s your glimpse into the Fuglen Oslo Bar Takeover. From cocktails to the crowd, every moment was full of flavor, energy, and pure Nordic-meets-local magic. Starting in Jakarta the team kicked things off with a stroll through a bustling local market, soaking up sights, sounds, and flavors. Later, they had a lively workshop with the incredible Fuglen Jakarta team, getting inspired and prepping for tonight’s special cocktails. Halvor’s energy sparked something special behind the bar that will carry on long after the tour is over!

Next up was Fuglen Seoul! Halvor and the team headed out to find inspiration for the cocktail menu and of course enjoyed some Korean BBQ. The night was full of great dinks and good vibes as the Fuglen cocktail bar filled up with guests. Carrying the warmth of this unforgettable evening, we’ll keep creating more beautiful moments together.

Adi met the tour as it arrived in Japan where they kicked things off in Fukuoka! Halvor, Adi and the Fukuoka team, with the help from Douglas ( @weberworkshops ), went foraging along the beaches of Itoshima and into the surrounding mountains. Searching for wild, local ingredients to infuse into their cocktails. From sea to mountain top to local markets, the team hunted down the freshest local flavours to craft truly unique drinks for each stop on the tour. Next and final stops of the tour were at Fuglen Asakusa and Fuglen Tokyo Tomigaya of course!
Each night brought together great people, lots of laughs, and plenty of incredible drinks to go around.

What a week it was. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a special week!

FUGLEN OSLO COCKTAIL BAR - FROM THE PAST TO THE PRESENT

Halvor Digernes was instrumental in founding Fuglen’s cocktail bar in 2010. Drawing from the cocktail scene in New York, he began using local, seasonal and foraged ingredients to create unique drinks at Fuglen Oslo. As one of the first bartenders in Norway to do this, he was a pioneer of a new bar culture in Oslo. When Fuglen opened in Tokyo in 2012, he also gained an affectionate nickname as “Halvor Hurricane”; he would fly to Tokyo only for five days, creating new menus, throwing multiple events and adding new vinyls to the shelf, and be suddenly gone only to return after a few months. He used to create a lot of energy and stir things up before he would disappear like the wind. Now, he’s back on tour to showcase the authentic Fuglen Oslo cocktail bar.

After Jakarta, Halvor was joined by Adi Goren, the current manager and head bartender at Fuglen Oslo. With a decade of experience in the bar industry, having run several of the most prized cocktail bars in Oslo, Adi is building on the heritage from Halvor, and is now the one shaping Fuglen Oslo’s bar culture with an innovative touch and fresh creativity for Fuglen Oslo’s future.
